Summary
Shirley Bechervaise trained as a nurse at the Alfred Hospital, Melbourne. She was an Australian Army Nursing Sister during the second World War and was serving with Queen Alexandra's Imperial Military Nursing Service in France at the time of the Evacuation from Dunkirk.
