K. G. Pegg worked on the control and management of Phytophthora cinnamomi root disease in agriculture and forestry in the 1980s, developing principles on which rehabilitation of affected areas can be based. Other plant diseases on which he worked included bacterial wilt disease of ginger and Panama disease of bananas.
