Educated Universities of Cape Town (BSc 1950, MSc 1953) and University of Tasmania (PhD). Scientific Officer, CSIR, Pretoria, 2years Research Fellow, Pharmacology Department, St Mary's Hospital Medical School, London, chemical pathology work in south Africa, ICIANZ Research Fellowship and demonstrator in chemistry, University of Tasmania 1958-62, senior tutor 1962-91, lecturer 1991-92, honorary research associate from 1992. Commemorated by a third year organic chemistry prize, Department of Chemistry, University of Tasmania.
