Details
Educated University of Sydney (BA 1938, BSc 1952, PhD 1963). Remained as a member of the academic staff of the University of Sydney until her retirement as Lecturer in the School of Biological Sciences in 1989. A garden in the University grounds has been named after her to recognise her service on the Students' Union and the Mary Besly Memorial Fund provides an annual award for a second-year student in Biological Sciences.
