Alexander Magarey was a South Australian explorer and observer who was the agent for Albert F Calvert, and participated in the Calvert Scientific Exploring Expedition in 1896 - 1897. He published at least three papers related to aboriginal tracking, water finding and smoke signalling, between 1893 and 1898.
