Norman Esserman was Officer-in-charge of the CSIR/O National Standards Laboratory 1940-1958 and Director 1958-1961, and head of Metrology 1939-1961. Earlier he worked at the Munitions Supply Laboratories, Maribyrnong 1923-1938.
