Summary
Sir Edward Ward was the inaugural deputy-master of the Sydney branch of the Royal Mint 1853-1866, and of the Melbourne branch 1869-1870(?). He was an active member of the Philosophical (Royal) Society of New South Wales and a trustee of the Australian Museum. He presented a talk to the Philosophical Society of New South Wales on the analysis of certain colonial coals.
