Summary
John Boyd collected specimens for the Australian Museum and William Macleay. His father Dr Sprott Boyd (1815 - 1902) was a trustee of the Museum. He was in Fiji 1865-1882 where he helped pioneer sugar-growing, and then had a sugar plantation at Ingham, Queensland, before retiring to Eden, New South Wales.
