Summary
Basil Kilvington was a surgeon and medical researcher who made pioneering investigations on the regeneration and grafting of nerves. He earned a considerable reputation in peripheral nerve surgery. Although initially in private practice, for much of his career he served in an honorary capacity at the (Royal) Melbourne Hospital. For 35 years he taught anatomy and surgery at the University of Melbourne.
