Summary
Douglas Blood was appointed Professor of Veterinary Medicine and Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Science at the University of Melbourne in 1962. He retired in 1985 and was recipient of the Schofield Medal (University of Guelph) and the Gilruth Prize (Australian Veterinary Association). Blood was educated at the universities of Sydney (BVSc) and Melbourne (MVSc).
