Summary
Prime Minister's Science, Engineering and Innovation Council was established in December 1997. In 1998 the Council took control of the functions previously carried out by the Australian Science, Technology and Engineering Council.
From their Web site, December 2002: "The Council is the Government's principal source of independent advice on issues in science, engineering and innovation and relevant aspects of education and training."
