Summary
Established in July 1991, the Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) for Mining Technology and Equipment was one of the first Cooperative Research Centres formed. The CRC's research includes areas such as fracture and damage mechanics, rock and coal characterisation, fragmentation and instrumentation.
In July 2003 this CRC was replaced by CRCMining.
Details
From their Web site, May 2002: "The Centre's purpose is to deliver a continual stream of safety and productivity enhancing technologies (the benefits) to the Australian mining industry (the beneficiary), and to have these technologies adopted by the industry (the measure of success)."
