The Australian Animal Health Laboratory (AAHL) was formed in 1985 after the Australian National Animal Health Laboratory (ANAHL) underwent a change of name. AAHL became part of the CSIRO Division of Animal Health in 1989. Since 2000 it has been a facility of CSIRO's Livestock Industries. From their Web site, December 2001: "The Australian Animal Health Laboratory (AAHL) is a national centre of excellence in disease diagnosis, research and policy advice in animal health."
