Gerard Industries Pty Ltd was established in South Australia in July 1931. The company was an early designer and manufacturer of electrical fittings for the electrical contracting industry.
It developed a range of adjustable clip-on metal conduit fittings, brand named 'Clipsal', that provided contractors with an innovative solution to the problem of size variation in metal conduits.
It manufactured the first all-Australian switch in 1930, and pioneered the use of thermoplastics in 1950.
