Summary

Hazelwood Power Station produces up to 25% of Victoria's power via brown coal consumption and is located in the Latrobe Valley. Building of the station commenced in the 1950s and it has been in operation since 1970. Hazelwood Power Station was first operated by SECV (State Electrical Commission of Victoria), but it 1995 it was handed over to the Hazelwood Power Corporation Pty Ltd.
