Summary
The Textile Panel was established in the late 1940s by the Ministry of Post-War Reconstruction to investigate and improve wool textile research in Australia. The Panel recommended that the research should be developed as a Textile Research Section of CSIR and become the world centre for research on wool. This was approved and set into action in 1944.
