Summary
Philips Electrical Industries was a subsidiary of N. V. Philips of Holland. It produced components for the telecommunications industry. In 1984 they began producing photovoltaic cells.
Details
At the Philips factory in Hendon in South Australia a wide range of electronic components were manufactured including ferrites and wound components. The manufacture of a full range of semiconductors had begun with germanium transistors and continued on to silicon transistors. Silicon wafers were diffused.
