Summary

The State Rail Authority of New South Wales was established in 1980 after the abolition of the Public Transport Commission. On 1 January 2004 RailCorp was formed when the State Rail Authority of New South Wales merged with Rail Corporation New South Wales and the metropolitan functions of the Rail Infrastructure Corporation.
