The Julius Kruttschnitt Mineral Research Centre (JKMRC) was established within the University of Queensland in 1970, with funding provided by Mount Isa Mines Ltd. From their Web site, July 2001: "The Julius Kruttschnitt Mineral Research Centre (JKMRC) is a world-renowned postgraduate research school and consulting organisation in the University of Queensland, Australia's 'University of the Year' for 1998/99. The JKMRC operates throughout Australia and internationally. The Centre's 115 staff and students work closely with industry in a wide range of applied research and consulting projects in mining and mineral processing."
