Summary
The Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Melbourne was established in 1947, although courses in electrical engineering had been offered since 1911, and in 1913 the first graduate of Electrical Engineering was received his degree. In 1982 the Department, part of the Faculty of engineering, underwent a change of name, becoming the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
