Summary

The Commonwealth Citrus Research Station in Griffith NSW was founded in 1924 by the Water Conservation and Irrigation Commission of NSW and the Commonwealth Institute of Science and Industry (1920-1926) . In 1927 the Commonwealth Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) assumed control of the Station, changing its name to the Commonwealth Research Station, Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area.
