In 1988 the Telematics Research and Application Collaboratory Research Team, within Swinburne's School of Information technology, was one of many university departments working on the Food Processing project. They were specifically looking into virtual communities, export and perishable foods. The research team was most likely restructured into the Centre for Intelligent Agents and Multi-Agent Systems in the Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies.
