Summary
Based on courses from Applied Science in Food and Science Technology and Applied Science in Consumer Science, which had been taught at RMIT for many years, the Department of Food Science was created in 1994, to satisfy the recognised importance of the Food Industry. It is now no longer a department but a field within the School of Applied Science .
