Summary
The School of Chemistry at the University of Melbourne was founded in the nineteenth century. The first lectures in chemistry were given in 1856, just three years after the foundation of the University. In 2002 the School has over 3000 undergraduates enrolled in courses and around 25 permanent academic staff members.
