The Council of The Institution has decided that the 1953 Award of the J. R. Bainton Prize be made to Mr. J. B. Kirkwood, AMIEAust, for his paper entitled "Power supply for resistance welding". At the time of presentation of his paper Mr. Kirkwood was a Student of The Institution. [The paper was presented to a meeting of the Graduates and Students' Section, Sydney Division of The Institution.]
