Abstract

The Council of The Institution has decided that the 1965 Award of the Edward Noyes Prize, be made jointly to Dr N. M. Hawkins BSc BE MS PhD GradIEAust (now AMIEAust), for his paper entitled "An evaluation of work on the fatigue strength of prestressed concrete beams", which was published in the March 1964 issue of The Journal [sic Civil Engineering Transactions] and to Mr M. R. Brown, GradIEAust, for his paper entitled "The ventilation of a vehicular tunnel on General Holmes Drive, Mascot, Sydney", which was published in the June 1964 issue of The Journal.
