Summary

Matthew Simpson is an applied mathematician who works in the field of mathematical biology, using computational and analytical methods to address problems in biological systems. His research is aimed at improving our understanding of cell biology. This has application in studying leukaemia, melanoma, burn injuries and other health issues. Simpson is Professor of Applied Mathematics at the Queensland University of Technology. He has received several awards recognising the excellence of his research.
