Summary
The collections held by the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TAMG) can be traced back to the Royal Society of Tasmania's activities in the 1840s. In 1863 the Museum gained its first permanent home. The TAMG also manages the Tasmanian Herbarium.
