Summary

Casson Smith AssocMInstCE MVIE CE, was assistant designing engineer, Melbourne Metropolitan Board of Works, associated with the design of the Melbourne Sewerage System from c1891 to 1929. Prior to moving to Australia from England in 1885, he gained experience in the design and construction of the Sheffield Sewerage Scheme. In Victoria, he was active within the engineering profession and the Victorian Institute of Engineers serving on its Council, as Vice president in 1925-26 and 1928, and as President in 1927.
