Summary
Garlick and Stewart, consulting engineers and surveyors, was formed as a partnership between Edward Garlick and Charles Arthur Stewart in Geelong, Victoria in 1935, and soon after the firm moved to Melbourne.
In 1988 the firm merged with Fisher Cleeland Turner and Dwyer Pty Ltd, consulting surveyors and engineers to become Fisher Stewart Pty Ltd. At the time of the merger Fisher Stewart had approximately 120 employees, 12 branches in Victoria and a branch in Alice Springs.
In June 1998 Fisher Stewart acquired the Shepparton- based engineering and surveying company Carr, McNamara and Muir (CMM), that then traded as CMM Fisher Stewart.
In early 2002 Earth Tech engineering Pty Ltd, water and wastewater specialist purchased Fisher Stewart Pty Ltd.
