The Society is the professional body for cardiologists and those working in the area including researchers, scientists, cardiovascular nurses, allied health professionals and other healthcare workers. Aims of the Society include: the promotion of excellence in education, training, research and practice in cardiovascular medicine; the development of professional standards of practice; provision of advice to government; facilitation of communication between practitioners by holding annual meetings and the publication of its journal.
