Summary
Montgomery White was an expert in animal nutrition, with the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Stock. Under his leadership, significant advances in the understanding and treatment of animal-nutrition problems in Queensland were made, including copper and cobalt deficiencies in sheep and cattle, and fluorosis in sheep. From 1939 he was also a specialist lecturer in agriculture at the University of Queensland, and from 1947 to 1953 he was a member of the university senate and the faculty of agriculture.
