Summary
John Neil was a high school principal and lay preacher who made significant contributions to the study of Victoria's fossil vertebrates, particularly ostracods. In 1990 he was appointed an Honorary Associate of the Invertebrate palaeontology section of Museum Victoria. He published a number of papers on trilobites and ostracods.
