Summary

The New South Wales Department of Mines and Agriculture was established in 1891, in continuation of the Department of Mines. It's Agriculture Branch had responsibility for agricultural research, education and advice. In 1908 the functions of the Branch were transferred to the newly-established Department of Agriculture.
