Summary
The Australian Mycological Society, founded in 1993, was incorporated as the Australasian Mycological Society in 1995. Its mission is to "promote research and teaching in all areas of fungal biology, to raise the profile of mycology in the Australasian region, to promote the conservation of Australasian fungi and to facilitate networking and collaboration among mycologists" [from www.australasianmycologicalsociety.com accessed 9/9/21]. The membership includes experts in many field relating to fungi including taxonomy and systematics, ecology, conservation biology, physiology, and medical mycology. Between 1995 and 2015 the Society published a journal, the title of which varied, that included scientific papers, reports of the Society's activities, and biographical notes on mycologists.
