Summary
The Malacological Society of Australia (Australasia from 1994) has as its primary objective the promotion of the study of molluscs. Membership is open to any person who is interested in molluscs, including in their conservation. The Society also advocates the funding of research and participates in public debate about national and regional issues concerning the conservation of molluscs. Publications of the Society include Journal of the Malacological Society of Australia (later called Molluscan research) and Australian shell news (later MSA newsletter).
