Summary
The Birdlife Australian Raptor Group was established in 1979 as the Australasian Raptor Association, a special interest group of the Royal Australasian Ornithological Union. Aims include to promote the study and conservation of diurnal and nocturnal raptors in Australia and southeast Asia; to provide expert advice on the ecology, biology and conservation requirements of raptors; to foster communication and cooperation within the Australasian region; and to rehabilitate injured birds. The Australasian Raptor Association news (now called Boobook) has been published since 1980.
