Summary
Shaun Collin is recognised internationally for his research in comparative neurobiology and vision, and the evolution of the vertebrate eye. His research has focused on comprehensive studies of shark vision: among his discoveries is the monochromatic nature of shark vision. Research institutes where he has worked include the Scripps institution of Oceanography (San Diego, U.S.A.) and the Marine Biology Laboratory (Woods Hole, U.S.A.). Collin is Winthrop Professor in the Oceans Graduate School, University of Western Australia, and Director of the University's Oceans Institute.
