Summary
In 1987 the Technology and Industry Development Authority (TIDA) was formed as Statutory Authority to support technological development in Western Australian industry. This included the creation of 'technology parks', a technology information centre, and incentives for technological innovation. In 1990 TIDA was abolished and its functions became the responsibility of the Ministry of Economic Development.
