Summary
The Metropolitan Water Works Board was a statutory authority established in 1896 responsible for supplying water to Western Australia. In 1904 new legislation was brought in to transfer responsibility for water, drainage and sewage to a Department rather than a statutory authority. This wasn't proclaimed until 1909 and the new Department wasn't formed until 1910. In 1909 the Metropolitan Water Works Board expired and was replaced by the Metropolitan Board of Water Supply and Sewerage (1909 - 1910) until the Metropolitan Water Supply, Sewerage and Drainage Department was operational in 1910.
