Summary

The Queensland Department of Health was established in 1963 as a stand alone department, its predecessor the Health and Home Affairs Department (1935 - 1963) had held responsibilities for health, welfare, justice, and immigration services. In 2012 the Queensland Department of Health changed its name to Queensland Health.
