Summary
Franz Bauer delineated and illustrated many of the plants collected on the Endeavor by Joseph Banks. He was known as an excellent microscopical drawer and published a volume of drawings. A number of Australian plants were named in honour of Franz and his brother Ferdinand by the European community, as well as a genus of Saxifrageous (rockfoils) that is now known as Baurera.
