Summary
The Monash Children's Hospital evolved, in part, out of dedicated children's wards, departments and services provided by hospitals in Melbourne's metropolitan area. Three key hospitals in this narrative are the Queen Victoria Hospital (1896) and the Prince Henry Hospital (1940 - 1987) which merged in 1987 to form the Monash Medical Centre (1987 - ). The Monash Children's Hospital transferred its first patients from the Monash Medical Centre on Wednesday the 19th of April 2017.
