Summary
The University of Technology Sydney was established under the University of Technology, Sydney, Act of 1987. Under this enabling legislation the New South Wales Institution of Technology formally to became the University of Technology Sydney in January 1988. Operating on several campuses in Sydney, the University's principle teaching areas include: science; law; health; arts and social sciences; business studies; design, architecture and the built environment; engineering and information technology; and transdisciplinary studies. In 2024 the University had over 51,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students.
