Summary

Pavel Smrz was a physicist and mathematician whose early research on collision of elementary particles and differential geometry was conducted in the U.S.S.R. and Canada. In 1971 he joined the University of Newcastle where his teaching was mainly in the areas of algebra and statistics. His published output was largely in the fields of nuclear physics and general relativity.
