Summary
Rod Hill is an Australian mineralogist who discovered and named the phosphate mineral hillite in 2003. Rod Hill is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, Royal Australian Chemical Institute, Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Mineralogical Society of America. He has held significant positions at prominent scientific institutions such as the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) and Monash University. In addition Rod Hill has served on a number of boards including the Australian Synchrotron Holding Company and the Melbourne East Regional Development Authority.
