Summary
Hirsch Munz investigated the properties of wool fibre from 1931 to 1940 at Council for Scientific and Industrial Research laboratories in Adelaide and Sydney, then at the University of Melbourne until 1942. After WWII he established a wool-trading company and devised the Munz Scale as a means of correlating international descriptions of wool fibres.
