Summary
Michael Bessell is a world authority on photoelectric photometry. After conducting his undergraduate honours research at the University of Tasmania's Richmond field station, he switched from radio to optical astronomy. His research interests include standard photometric systems. synthetic photometry, high resolution spectroscopy, Magellanic clouds, and stellar evolution and spectroscopy.
