Summary
Edward Cornwall was a mechanical and electrical engineer whose early career was in marine engineering. For a few years he worked for the Australasian United Steam Navigation Company. He then moved to the field of electrical engineering, working for the City Electric Light Company in Brisbane, and rising to Manager and Chief Engineer. Cornwall had substantial influence of the supply of electricity across Queensland. He was Chairman of the Brisbane division of the Institution of Engineers, Australia, from 1938 to 1939, and twice President of the Electricity Supply Association of Australia.
