Summary
William Ironside Ashley Beet migrated to Queensland with his family in 1886. In 1896 he travelled back to England to study medicine. In 1901 he qualified as a licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians and was admitted to the Royal College of Surgeons. He returned to Queensland in 1902 and was appointed medical officer at a small hospital in Beaudesert as well as allowed a private practice. He completed a diploma in public health from the Royal College of Surgeons in England 1912 and returned to Beaudesert.
